The night club had a drop down ceiling built and it  had perspex  sheets fitted hanging down throughout the middle of the feature. LED strip lights were then fitted around the edge of the feature and a strip was fitted to each perspex sheet. The sheets were frosted and this gave the effect of lighting up each perspex sheet. To add a more stunning creative effect half of the perspex sheets (dotted around)  were wired opposite (eg. usually red to red was now red to blue )  this gave the effect of different colours through the ceiling feature all off one controller giving a stunning effect at an extremely cheap price.

Equipment used:

35m RGB LED tape 24v 7.2w

2 x DMX receivers

1 x 320w 12v transformer

1 x DMX wall controller

Installation :  The drop down ceiling was created using lengths of  timber with MDF sheets fitted to them with an overhang for LED tape to be fitted to. The perspex sheets were pre cut and frosted , they overhung inside the drop down ceiling where the mdf had been cut out to fit the sheets and were drilled  to be fitted and supported. LED tape was pre cut from LED-tape.com and was taped facing downwards onto the top of the perspex sheets.

The LED tape around the coving was pre cut by LED Tape to a total of 2 lengths which were simply peeled and stuck down. All cables were then extended to the transformer and DMX receivers that were mounted in the ceiling – A cat5 cable was then taken from receiver to the next and from that back to behind the bar where the DMX wall controller was fitted.

The wall controller allows full dim, colour scrolls , sound to light and static colours.

40m x RGB LED tape 24v 7.2w

Installation:

The LED dance floor was created out of timber beams and pre-cut Perspex squares .The LED tape was then laid down the middle of each row 200mm below the Perspex squares. Total of 8 x 5m strips pre made by LED-tape.com.  4 x 5m strips were then wired back to one transformer and one DMX receiver in a vented cut out near the LED dance floor and then other 4 x 5m strips were wired back to the other DMX receiver and transformer. The area was accessible and vented.

A cat 5 cable was then taken from the DMX receiver 20m up the wall and through the ceiling to the DMX wall controller which was mounted behind the bar. This controller then controls the entire LED dance floor. The controller allows fully dim, colour scrolls, static colours and even sound to light mode.

If you were looking for controllability of each 5m strips (8 squares) you could do this using 1 DMX receiver for each row that would be 8 in total, and then link this to a computer desk which would give you full control of each section.

The timber and Perspex squares were pre-cut this took 2 men one full day to fully create the dance floor. The LED tape installation took one man one full day to install.

The effect is stunning and the customer is extremely happy – The LED dance floor cost a fraction of the cost of pre made LED dance floors and gives the same effect.

The bar took just 13 Meters of High powered RGB LED Tape to create this amazing effect.

13m RGB high power 60 led .

1 x Dmx receiver

1 x 200w 24v  transformer

The RGB LED tape was supplied in 2 x 6.5m lengths with 7m starter leads on each so they could be wired to the transformer in a cupboard behind the bar.

There was no controller required as the LED tape dmx reciver was getting controlled by a computer desk PC system that controls all the lights in the club. This allows specific programmes and times etc.

Eg. Slow colour scrolls at the start of the night and strobeing later on in the evening.

The LED installation took one man 2 hours to wire up.
